Story:
Bootcut Balraju (Sohail) is a good-hearted man from his village. All the villagers revere Patelamma (Indraja) who brings prosperity to all. Patelamma’s daughter Mahalakshmi (Meghalekha) Bootkat is a childhood friend of Balaraju. Both Siri (Hanmanth Siri) and Mahalakshmi share their feelings about Balaraj. Balaraj accepts Mahalakshmi, but he has a big fight ahead. What happens next? What challenge does Balaraju have to face? This is what the movie is about.
Plus Points:
Sohail is very handsome in the film. He’s good in comic scenes and emotional scenes and carries the film on his shoulders. Meghalekha performed beautifully and she too looked beautiful. She is more natural in the romantic parts. Also playing the new female lead, Siri Hanmanth is good in her role.
The struggle Sohail goes through for his ladylove and the issues that come up in this are well portrayed. While Sunil, Indraj and Jabardast Rohini played other supporting roles, they entertained with their modulation and histronics. Others like Avinash and Saddam did justice to their roles.
Minus Points:
Though the storyline picked up by the director is good, the script is not compelling. The story moves very slowly for the most part. The second part basically tests endurance levels big time. The parts featuring the lead couple are routine in nature.
The character of the leader is weak. Moreover, the exaggeration of certain sequences and repetitions adds to the suffering. The movie could have been much better if the routines and boring scenes were presented in an interesting way. The climax isn’t done right.
Technical Aspects:
Mr. Conetti Sree failed as a writer because the screenplay never made an impact. The lyrics and background score by Bheems Ceciroleo are good. The editor had to crop out a few unnecessary photos. Shyam K Naidu’s cinematography is decent. Production standards are complex.
Overall, Bootcut Balaraj is a love story that fails to captivate. Aside from the two leads and a few comedic moments, the rest of the film is unengaging. The unremarkable and slow storytelling, with boring sequences, are Bootcut Balaraju’s biggest flaws. So it ends up being a disappointing watch.
