Adipurush, the highly anticipated film featuring Telugu superstar Prabhas, has been released in theaters worldwide. This mythological drama presents a fresh retelling of the revered Hindu epic, Ramayan. Directed by Om Raut, the movie showcases Prabhas in the role of Lord Ram, with Kriti Sanon portraying Sita, Sunny Singh as Lakshman, and Saif Ali Khan taking on the character of Ravan.

With an enormous budget of Rs 500 crore, the film has already generated significant buzz. Upon the opening of advance bookings on Sunday, it amassed a noteworthy revenue of Rs 12 crore. The prominent theater chain, PVR, alone sold over one lakh tickets in the Hindi market, indicating a promising start at the box office nationwide.

Girish Johar, a film trade analyst, estimated that the film’s opening day collection, encompassing all languages, would reach Rs 50 crore. Taran Adarsh, a renowned expert in the film industry, emphasized the profound connection Indians have with the epic of Ramayan. He expressed, “For me, the true essence lies not in Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, or Saif Ali Khan, but in Ramayan itself—an emotion deeply rooted. Everything else takes a back seat.” Adarsh acknowledged that many Indian viewers would resonate with this sentiment while watching the film. Recent reports suggest that the film’s first-day collection could surpass the earnings of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, adding to the growing anticipation surrounding Adipurush.

Adipurush, the highly anticipated film, revolves around the timeless story of Lord Ram and the abduction of his wife Sita by the nefarious Ravana. With the assistance of the vanara army, Lord Ram embarks on a heroic quest to rescue Sita and bring her back to Ayodhya. Kriti Sanon, who portrays the role of Janaki (Sita) in this retelling of Ramayana, has eagerly shared her thoughts on being part of such an ambitious project. She enthusiastically describes the vast scale and magnitude of Om Raut’s directorial vision, ensuring a visually spectacular experience for the audience. Interestingly, despite the epic nature of the story, Kriti playfully recalls joking with the director about shooting her “biggest film on the smallest set,” as the entire production was meticulously crafted within the confines of a studio.
